Massachusetts Cares Fund provides assistance to National Guard and Reserve Families

In recognition of the tremendous sacrifices made by Massachusetts National Guard members and Reservists, the Massachusetts Cares Fund, a Military Friends Foundation program, is issuing grants of up to $200 to active duty service members of the Massachusetts National Guard and Reserves and their families. Many servicemen and women face financial hardship during deployment; their families at home can also feel the impact as a parent, sibling, child, or spouse serves the country at home and abroad. Each Massachusetts’s Cares grant goes towards house or rental payments, heating or electricity bills, groceries, or any other essential service. The Military Friends Foundation also offers a needs-based grant to service members who experienced a 15% or greater pay decrease in the transition from civilian employment to military service of up to $1000 per year to help compensate for the income differential.
